Net
A fishing net is not required, but it can make landing fish much easier, especially in certain situations.
A net allows you to safely scoop up a fish once you have reeled it in, instead of trying to lift it out of the water by the line or hook. This reduces the chance of:
- Losing the fish at the last moment
- Breaking your line
- Injuring the fish or yourself
When a Net is Helpful
A net is especially useful when:
- Fishing from a boat
- Catching larger fish
- Fishing from docks or higher banks
- You want to release fish safely
Keep It Simple
For beginners, a basic landing net is more than enough. You do not need anything large or expensive.
If you are fishing from shore for smaller fish, you may not need one right away. But as you start catching bigger fish or fishing from different locations, a net quickly becomes a valuable tool.
